Shree Krishna Shrestha (Nepali: श्रीकृष्ण श्रेष्ठ) was a highly acclaimed Nepalese actor and producer, celebrated for his outstanding contributions to Nepali cinema. Born on April 19, 1967, he left a lasting legacy in the world of Nepali entertainment until his untimely passing on August 10, 2014.

Shree Krishna Shrestha was widely recognized for his exceptional talents as both an actor and a dancer. He was not only one of the most popular stars in Nepali cinema but also one of the highest-earning actors in the history of Nepali cinema.

His acting journey commenced with the film "Bhumari," which was a success at the box office. Throughout his career, he appeared in numerous commercially successful films such as "Maiti," "Bar Pipal," "Aafno Manche," "Gorkhali," "A Mero Hajur," "Upakar," and "Sukha Dukha," to name a few. However, his legacy includes record-breaking all-time blockbusters like "Hami Tin Bhai," "Kaha Bhetiyela," and "Kohinoor," with the latter two films being produced by him.

"Kohinoor" achieved remarkable success, breaking all records at the box office and becoming the highest-grossing Nepali movie of its time, crossing 100 million Nepalese Rupees. This achievement remained unmatched until "Chhakka Panja" surpassed it two years later.

His battle with illness ended on August 10, 2014, at the age of 47, at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi, India.

His passing was met with a profound outpouring of grief from the Nepali public, and thousands of people participated in his funeral proceedings in Kathmandu. The Nepal Government honored him with a national honor, and numerous prominent figures in Nepal, including the Prime Minister, expressed their condolences.
