Sita KC is a highly respected and award-winning folk singer in Nepal, particularly celebrated for her contributions to the Lok-Dohori (folk duet) genre. Born on March 22, 1990, in Galkot, Baglung, she was raised in a musical family where her parents and siblings were also active in the arts. She moved to Kathmandu in 2007 (2064 BS) to pursue her professional singing career, studying classical music under the renowned teacher Deepak Jangam at Padma Kanya Campus. Her career took off after she passed the vocal exam at Radio Nepal that same year, leading to her debut recording "Jyan Tadha Hunda Samjhana Aaune."
She achieved widespread national fame with the hit song "Malai America Yahi," a collaboration with Pashupati Sharma that earned her several prestigious honors, including the Image Award, the Chhinnalata Prize, and the National Folk & Duet Song Award. Known for her sweet and versatile voice, she has recorded over 200 songs, including popular tracks like "Chhalchhal Pani Gagrima," "Piratiko Dori," and "Sunko Bala." Sita is also a dominant figure during the festive season, frequently releasing Teej songs such as the award-winning "Hera ta Sailee."
