The plot of the movie Prawasi Jiwan follows Prayash, a young Bhutanese refugee who moves to America with his mother and sister, Roshni, driven by the ambition to achieve the ‘American Dream’ after seeing his friend Bishal's success. However, his journey is quickly marred by trauma and hardship: his mother witnesses a neighbor's murder, and a woman named Laila blackmails him for all his savings. The mental strain peaks when his friend Gopal, who struggled with intense loneliness, dies by suicide, a struggle Prayash had previously dismissed. Overwhelmed by financial loss, his mother’s illness, and Bishal’s sudden abandonment, Prayash falls into a deep depression and nearly takes his own life. Saved by his sister, he finally recognizes the importance of mental health and seeks professional help from Dr. Sharma. Through treatment, Prayash regains his stability and eventually achieves the prosperous life he sought, proving that in Prawasi Jiwan, true success requires balancing ambition with emotional well-being.
