The filming for Gyanendra Deuja's new movie Jhingedau 2 finished in Chitwan on Wednesday. The crew spent 63 days on set to get every shot right. It took a bit longer than the original 60 day plan but the director seems happy with the result. He says they didn't want to rush things because they want to match the success of the first film. Can the sequel actually beat the original at the box office? It usually feels hard to top a hit movie, but the team spent three extra days just to make sure the quality is there.

The movie started its journey in Panauti. From there, the team traveled to many places like Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Tanahu, and even Dolakha. They filmed in scenic spots like Bandipur and Chitlang too. This long list of locations shows they really want the movie to look big. Now that the cameras are off, the post production work starts in a few days. They’re aiming for a release during next year's Dashain festival. Dashain is always the best time for a big Nepali film, so this move makes a lot of sense for the producers.

The cast is quite large this time. Keki Adhikari and Aanchal Sharma are the lead stars again. They’re joined by Aryan Sigdel, Saroj Khanal, and Mahesh Tripathi. Other actors like Basundhara Bhusal and Hiuwala Gautam are also in it. It’s a mix of old stars and new faces which usually works well for Nepali audiences. Actually, the casting looks strong enough to pull people into the theaters. Or at least, it gives the movie a good head start.

Director Gyanendra Deuja wrote the story himself. He worked with writers Parichhed Sen, Govinda Phuyal, and Shishir Chalise on the script. The technical team has some familiar names. Arjun Pokhrel handled the music while Roshan Shrestha did the action direction. These are people who know how to make a commercial movie. The film is produced under the banner of Kapangadhi Cinema and Film Crew Nepal.

This project matters for the industry. It matters because sequels are becoming a huge trend in Nepal right now. If Jhingedau 2 does well, it proves that local stories have a long life. The director says he didn't make any compromises while filming. That’s a good sign for the fans. We’ll have to wait until next Dashain to see if all that hard work paid off on the big screen.
