Fans of the popular duo Bipin Karki and Keki Adhikari will have to wait a bit longer to see them back on screen together. The production team of the upcoming film ‘Kaji’ has officially announced that the movie will not be released on its previously scheduled date of Chaitra 27 (April 10, 2026).

The decision comes down to a mix of incomplete filming and post-production requirements. Producer Ram Prasad Rijal explained that while they aimed for a New Year release, scheduling conflicts with the actors and a desire for high-quality post-production led them to push the date back.

A Strategic Move for Bipin Karki

The postponement is being viewed as a lucky break for Pahad, another major film starring Bipin Karki (directed by Tulsi Ghimire), which is scheduled for release just three days later on Baisakh 1 (Nepali New Year).

Conflict Avoided: Had both released as planned, Bipin Karki would have had two major films competing for audience attention and screens at the same time.

Publicity Benefits: Now, Bipin can focus his promotional efforts entirely on Pahad before shifting focus back to Kaji once a new date is fixed.

About the Film: The Return of a Hit Duo

Kaji has generated significant buzz because it reunites Bipin Karki and Keki Adhikari, who were widely praised for their chemistry in ‘Prasad 2’. This project also marks the return of director Laxman Rijal to the director’s chair after an eight-year hiatus.

What’s Next for ‘Kaji’?

The production team plans to complete the remaining shoot after Chaitra 26. While a new release date hasn't been locked in, the producers have promised to share the new schedule soon, emphasizing that they "don't want to rush a product that deserves better time in post-production."

Actually, this is a very sensible move. In the Nepali film industry, clashing with yourself is a recipe for divided box office numbers. Or at least, it gives the Kaji team enough breathing room to ensure the film lives up to the high expectations set by the Prasad 2 legacy.
