Kathmandu — After nearly a decade away from the director's chair, veteran Nepali filmmaker Nir Shah has wrapped principal photography on his highly anticipated comeback film, Kamala Miss. The production team confirmed that shooting concluded on Tuesday, marking the end of an approximately 23-day shoot that began on Falgun 1.
According to line producer Pushkar Lama (Prem Bhomjan), the shoot remained largely on schedule despite a three-day pause forced by the national elections held during the production period — a testament to the team's discipline and efficiency on set.
Kamala Miss is a psychological drama based on a story by Vijay Malla, with the screenplay and dialogues co-written by director Shah and Prajal Dulal. The film stars Nir Shah himself alongside Ramesh Budathoki, Basana Timilsina, Shivam Saraf Kshetri, Aarv Dahal, Bhawana Magar, Sushant Kumar Shrestha, Jayant Regmi, Suresh Thapa, Rajan KC, and Sanjay Khatiwada, among others.
The film is presented by Vijay Malla Smriti Pratisthan and produced by Uma Malla, with Umesh Malla and Chaitanya Pradhan serving as executive producers. The technical team includes cinematographer Shivaram Shrestha, music composer Yug Bhusal, choreographer Ramji Lamichhane, production manager Bhola Subedi, and chief assistant director Sagar Bohra.
Shah's return to direction carries significant weight in Nepal's film industry. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has delivered some of Nepali cinema's most celebrated and enduring films, including Vasudev, Pachis Basanta, Rajmati, Basanti, Masan, and Seto Bagh. His comeback has been eagerly awaited by both the industry and audiences, and the completion of Kamala Miss brings that wait one step closer to its end.
