Kathmandu — The Nepali film Karki Sahila has successfully completed its principal photography — and in impressive fashion. Despite a planned one-month shooting schedule, the cast and crew wrapped up all filming in just 21 days, finishing a full nine days ahead of schedule.

Director Rajendra Basnet credited the team's exceptional work ethic and seamless coordination for the early completion, saying the high efficiency and mutual cooperation among cast and crew members made it possible to call the final pack-up well before the deadline.

The film was shot across scenic locations in Dhankuta, Chatara in Sunsari, and the surroundings of the revered pilgrimage site Barahakshetra — a visually rich backdrop that promises to give the film a distinct and authentic eastern Nepali identity.

A Fresh On-Screen Pairing

Karki Sahila marks the first on-screen collaboration between popular actor Jitu Nepal — widely known by his screen persona Mundre — and actress Priyana Acharya (Munni), who play husband and wife in the film. The pairing of two of Nepal's most beloved comedic and character actors has already generated considerable excitement among fans.

The supporting cast includes Sushil Pokhrel, Birendra Singh Kushahawa, Manshi Sharma, Manil Tamang, Renuka Acharya, Dipson Limbu, Roda Rai, and Kamal Devkota, among others.

Production Details

The film is produced under the banner of Karnababhadur Films Pvt. Ltd., with Balkumar Rai as producer and Krishna Bhagat Chamling as presenter. The technical team includes cinematographer Dambar Rai, action director Kiran Dahal, and music by Dipson Limbu. Rojal Thapa — who has directed over 200 music videos — serves as chief assistant director, bringing a wealth of visual storytelling experience to the project.

With shooting now complete, the production team has moved into post-production and editing. A release date has not yet been announced.
