Kathmandu — The Film Development Board of Nepal has successfully concluded a three-day Voice Acting and Dubbing Training program, with Board Chairman Dinesh DC emphasizing that the combination of voice and performance is essential to taking Nepali cinema to a global audience.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Dinesh DC said, "Voice acting and dubbing is not merely a technique — it is the soul of performance. If we can strengthen this skill, Nepali films can access new markets and reach entirely new audiences."
The training was led by Amit Deонdi, an Indian voice specialist with extensive experience working on international projects for both Hollywood and Bollywood productions. Impressed by the level of engagement he witnessed, Deонdi praised Nepali participants warmly. "Nepali artists possess extraordinary talent," he said. "With the right training and consistent practice, voice acting from Nepal can absolutely reach international standards."
A total of 174 participants benefited from the program, which covered a comprehensive range of skills including voice acting techniques, dubbing processes, character-appropriate voice modulation, dialogue delivery, studio dubbing procedures, and sound editing — combining both theoretical instruction and hands-on practical sessions.
Participants responded enthusiastically, describing the training as highly practical, effective, and genuinely international in its approach and standard.
The Film Development Board stated that the program is expected to make a meaningful contribution to improving the overall quality of voice acting and dubbing in Nepal's film industry, while building a skilled pool of professionals equipped to work at a competitive level.
