Kathmandu — Actress and filmmaker Neeta Dhungana is taking her next step behind the camera. Her upcoming film Parbati, being produced under the banner of Neeta Dhungana Films, is set to begin principal photography on Chaitra 24, with a theatrical release targeted for Bhadra 12.

"We are starting the shoot on Chaitra 24," Dhungana confirmed. "In consultation with distributors and other stakeholders, we are preparing to bring the film to audiences on Bhadra 12."

The film is written and directed by Dhungana herself, with the script adapted by Shivam Adhikari from her own story and screenplay. The cast features Neeta Dhungana alongside Deepashree Niraula, Ashok Darji, Siru Bisht, Radhika Kandel, Raj Pangeni Sharma, Rajendra Nepali, and Asha Poudel, among others.

On the technical side, Sudip Baral serves as director of photography, while Saroj Adhikari takes on the role of creative director for the first time on a feature film. Adhikari, who is also known as a dancer and director with Cartoon Crew, brings a fresh and dynamic sensibility to the production team. Shankar Pande handles the role of executive producer and overall production management, with editing by Sahil Khan and poster design by Royal Bhimsen.

Parbati adds to a growing list of Nepali films directed by women that are finding their footing in a competitive industry, and Dhungana's dual role as both the director and a lead actress gives the project a distinctly personal quality worth watching for.
