TikTok Star Ayush Singh Thakuri on His Film Debut: "Even My Family Didn't Recognize My Voice in the Trailer"

Kathmandu — For millions of Nepali TikTok users, Ayush Singh Thakuri is already a familiar face. But with his upcoming film debut in Ram Naam Satya, releasing on Chaitra 27 as a solo release, he is about to introduce himself to a whole new audience — and he has put in the work to make that introduction count.

Speaking to media ahead of the release, Ayush was candid, enthusiastic, and clearly proud of what he has contributed to the film. "I worked on this film because I loved the story," he said. "I have received offers for other films too. But the story of Ram Naam Satya pulled me in, and I was ready to commit."

His role in the film carries the kind of mystery that the best thriller characters demand. The trailer only revealed one of his dialogues, and even that was enough to fool his own inner circle. "When the trailer came out, even my family and close ones didn't recognize my voice," he said with a laugh. "When I told them that dialogue was mine, they were genuinely shocked. I have put in a lot of effort for this film."

Ayush confirmed that a sequel to Ram Naam Satya is already in development, and used it as a reason for audiences not to miss the first installment. "To understand what my role will be in the sequel, audiences must not skip the first part," he said.

On the question of converting his millions of TikTok followers into cinema ticket buyers, Ayush acknowledged the challenge while expressing optimism: "Many Nepalis living abroad have already said they will buy tickets for their family and friends back home, and book cinema seats for them. I can feel the audience's genuine excitement for the film."

Looking ahead, Ayush signaled a long-term commitment to the film industry, but on his own terms. "I still have a lot of work to do on myself. I won't rush into anything. But I will continue moving forward in this field."

Ram Naam Satya is written and directed by Michael Chand and stars Biraj Bhatt, Sushil Shrestha, Ayush Singh Thakuri, Supushpa Bhatt, Divya Raymajhi, Sunil Thapa, Prashant Tamrakar, and Khushi Karki, among others. Produced by Upendra Shahi and Sweta Bimali, the film is projected by distributors to deliver a bumper opening at the box office.
