Kathmandu - Actress, producer, and now director Neeta Dhungana has officially kicked off production on her film Parvati, with the formal muhurt ceremony and first day of shooting held on Tuesday in Mirsa Village, Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality-1, Kaski.
Dhungana will direct the film and play the lead role herself, continuing her multi-faceted involvement in a project that carries the banner of Neeta Dhungana Films. This marks the second film produced under her banner, following Hraswodirgha.
The cast features Deepashree Niraula, Ashok Darji, Siru Bisht, Radhika Kandel, Raj Pangeni Sharma, Rajendra Nepali, and Asha Poudel, among others. Executive producer and production manager Shankar Pande confirmed that all cast members are currently engaged in active shooting. The film's story and screenplay are by director Dhungana herself, with the script written by Shivam Adhikari. Sudeep Baral serves as DOP, Saroj Adhikari — known as a dancer and director with Cartoon Crew, takes on the role of creative director for the first time in a film. Harihar Adhikari serves as producer. Editing will be handled by Sahil Khan, with poster design by Royal Bhimsen.
The production team has set a target release date of Bhadra 12, and shooting is expected to be completed within approximately one month. Director Dhungana confirmed the team is moving at pace to meet that timeline.
