Kathmandu — Actor Jitu Nepal, beloved by Nepali audiences for his sharp comic timing, is about to show them a completely different side of himself. The first-look poster and official release date for Karki Sainla have been unveiled on Nepal's New Year, with the film set to reach cinemas nationwide on Shrawan 1.

The poster is immediately striking. Jitu appears as a porter (bhariya), carrying a traditional doko on his back. Inside the doko, a mountain silhouette shows five other porters walking in a line beneath open sky with birds in flight — a beautifully composed image that speaks of journey, labor, and the dignity of those who carry not just loads but entire lives on their backs. A tender romantic image at the bottom of the poster, showing a young woman resting her head on a man's shoulder, adds an emotional counterpoint that suggests love woven through struggle.
The film is directed by Rajendra Basnet, who deliberately chose to cast Jitu in this role to challenge and expand his on-screen identity. The film was shot across scenic locations in eastern Nepal including Dhankuta, Chatara in Sunsari, and Varahakshetra, lending it a visual richness rooted in the region's landscapes.
The cast alongside Jitu includes Priyona Acharya (Munni), Sushil Pokhrel, Virendra Singh Kushwaha, Mansi Sharma, Manil Tamang, Renuka Acharya, Dipsan Limbu, Roda Rai, and Kamal Devkota, among others.
The film is produced under the banner of Karna Bahadur Films Pvt. Ltd., presented by Krishna Bhagat Chamling and produced by Balkumar Rai. Technical credits include cinematography by Dambar Rai, action direction by Kiran Dahal, music by Dipsan Limbu, and production management by Sibi Bhandari. Distribution is handled by Kuber Films.
