Kathmandu — The trailer of Paral Ko Aago has been officially unveiled at a special event in Kathmandu, and it has struck an immediate emotional chord. Set for release on Baisakh 11, the film's first full preview confirms what its promotional songs had already hinted at: this is a deeply human story about love, regret, and the wounds that domestic conflict leaves behind.

The trailer centers on the fractured marriage between the characters played by Prakash Saput and Suhana Thapa. A husband, in a moment of rage, strikes his wife — and then, consumed by remorse, finds himself searching desperately for her. The portrayal of that arc, from violence to grief to longing, is handled with a rawness and emotional honesty that sets this film apart from more conventional Nepali rural dramas. In contrast, neighbors played by Saugat Malla and Sirjana Adhikari are shown as a harmonious, ideal couple — a deliberate visual counterpoint that sharpens the pain of the central relationship's collapse.

Flashes of fire and a dark, moody visual palette underscore the film's symbolic depth, evoking the paral ko aago — the fire of straw — of the title: something that burns intensely but briefly, leaving only ash behind.

Directed by Laxman Sunar and based on the celebrated short story by literary giant Guru Prasad Mainali from his collection Naso, the film marks the second cinematic adaptation of the story, nearly 45 years after director Pratap Subba first brought it to the screen.

The film is produced under the banner of Hari Om Cine Makers Pvt. Ltd. by Sushil Pokhrel, Sulabhi Pokhrel, and Satyam Pokhrel, with screenplay and dialogues by Sushil Devkota and cinematography by Sankalpa Bhujel. The supporting cast includes Kishore Bhandari, Jack Shrestha, Sarita Bhandari, Renu Neupane, and child actress Manjila Baniya. Technical credits include editing by Milan Shrestha, choreography by Ramji Lamichhane, color grading by Canal Kanwar, VFX by Samir Miya and Satyam Rana, trailer editing by Sahil Khan, and 5.1 sound mixing by Mukesh Shah. Background score is by Kiran Tuladhar, with music by Shanti Thatal, Satya-Swarup Acharya, and Prakash Saput, and lyrics by Man Bahadur Mukhiya, Surendra Rana, and Prakash Saput.
