Kathmandu — The cast of Maharajdhiraj continues to expand at a remarkable pace. Actress Pooja Sharma has officially been signed for a lead role in the film, joining just days after Keki Adhikari's announcement and making the project's ensemble one of the most impressive assembled for a Nepali film in recent memory. Actor Hemant Budathoki has also been confirmed in the same week.

With these additions, the film now boasts a cast that includes Pushpa Khadka — who signed with a blood thumbprint — alongside Keki Adhikari, Pooja Sharma, Nir Shah, Aryan Sigdel, Ramesh Upreti, Usha Rajak, Hiunbala Gautam, Jayakishan Basnet, Shishir Bhandari, Gajit Bisht, and Asha Poudel, with a total of over 80 actors involved across the full production.

Presenter Biraj Bisht expressed confidence that the quality of the lineup directly signals the quality of the film itself. The project is directed by Parichheda Sen, whose previous work Premganj was critically well received, and is written by Sen himself under the banner of Chhattreshwar Management Pvt. Ltd., produced by Ravi Khadka, Shivraj Poudel, and Topendra Bisht. Cinematography is by Nabaraj Thapa.

Shooting is set to begin after the second week of Baisakh, starting at Sri Lanka Tapu in Sunsari before moving to historical locations across Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Kirtipur. The film has a Fulpati of Dashain release as its target.
