Kathmandu — Actress Rekha Thapa has announced her next film production: Kaukuti, which will become the eighth film under her own production banner. The announcement was made on Tuesday following a special puja ceremony at Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand, India.
The film will be directed by Shraddha Prasai, known for her work on the popular comedy show Comedy Darbar and the upcoming film Kakakiki. Rekha will play the lead role herself, with a newcomer being brought in as the male lead.
The story is written by Vicky Agrawal and Vinesh Rai, with Vinesh also handling the screenplay. The film is being invested in by Nawraj Shrestha and Balram Shahi Thakuri — the latter being Rekha's husband. Music will be composed by Prashant Shiwakoti, with one song to be performed by popular rapper Lil Jhola (Aakash Kshetri). Shooting is planned to begin in Ashoj.
