Kathmandu — Debut director and composer Hari Lamsal's film Baa: Ek Yoddha now has its release date: Bhadra 19 (September 4), timed to coincide with Krishna Janmashtami. The announcement was made via a theme poster by production company Artistic Entertainment. The film will share its release date with Kakakiki and Station.
The film carries a remarkable casting story: real-life mother and daughter Jharna Thapa and Suhana Thapa will play a mother and daughter on screen for the very first time. Actor Divyadev Pant plays another central role.
The story and screenplay are by director Lamsal himself, with the film produced by Basanta Lamsal — who previously produced Karma with Bipin Karki and Upasana Singh Thakuri. Cinematography is by Shivaram Shrestha, with Taranath Neupane as chief assistant director.
The film explores the sacrifices, struggles, and responsibilities that fathers carry throughout their lives — told through both rural and urban Nepali settings — positioning the ordinary father as a warrior in his own right.
