Kathmandu — A new voice is stepping behind the camera. Director Binayraj Paudel has officially announced his debut feature film "Akshara," with the production team releasing a theme poster alongside the title announcement on Tuesday.
The poster immediately sets a contemplative tone. It shows a woman walking in the early morning light, carrying a side bag, her face turned away from the viewer. The mood is quiet, serious, and slightly mysterious — strongly suggesting a female-led story that carries weight and interiority.
Principal photography is scheduled to begin on Baisakh 27, with shooting locations and the full cast yet to be revealed. The production team appears to be deliberately building intrigue by keeping the cast a closely guarded secret for now.
The film is presented by Rajan Dulal under the banner of Kshit Babu Production House, with Ugrasena Dhungana and Suraj Thapa as producers. The story is written by producer Ugrasena Dhungana himself, with the screenplay crafted by Abhimanyu Nirawi.
For director Paudel, Akshara marks his long-awaited directorial debut. He brings with him years of experience as a chief assistant director on dozens of Nepali films — a foundation that has prepared him thoroughly for this next step. With the story, a strong producer team, and a carefully chosen title that speaks to identity and expression, Akshara is already earning quiet interest from the industry.
