"Kaji" and "Mitajyu" Hit Cinemas Nationwide Today

Kathmandu — Nepali cinema audiences have two strong new films to choose from this week. Kaji and Mitajyu have both opened in theaters across the country today, setting up what promises to be one of the more competitive and culturally rich weekends at the Nepali box office this season.

Kaji

Kaji is a deeply felt love story centered on the relationship between a husband and wife, told with emotional honesty and rooted in the rhythms of rural Nepali life. The film is directed by Laxman Rijal and stars Vipin Karki and Keki Adhikari in the lead roles of Kaji and Kajini, a pairing that has already generated strong audience excitement through its trailer and promotional materials.
The supporting cast includes Garima Sharma, Prakash Ghimire, Hemant Budathoki, Bishal Pahari, Vinod Neupane, Rashmi Bhatta, Hiunbala Gautam, Sandipbabu Lohani, Roji Shrestha, Ganga Sharma, Nawaraj Giri, Buddhi Sagar Khanal, Prasangsha Subedi, Kritika Sharma, and child actress Dikshita Aryal, among others.
The story is written by Pradeep Bharadwaj, and the film is presented by Ramprasad Rijal under the banner of Rijal and Rijal Production, with producers Nehan Rijal and Bikasraj Joshi.

Mitajyu

Mitajyu is a rural social drama rooted in the Nepali tradition of the miteri sworn brotherhood bond, directed by Anil Budha Magar and produced by Janak Gharti Magar under GM Movies Production. The film brings together two of Nepal's most celebrated actors, Dayahang Rai and Saugat Malla, in lead roles that put them in both friendship and conflict, a combination that has a proven track record of drawing audiences to the cinema.
The film also marks the acting debut of acclaimed dancer Teriya Fauza Magar, who steps in front of the camera for the first time in a central role, offering audiences the chance to see both her dancing and her acting in a single film.
The supporting cast features Puskar Gurung, Shishir Wangdel, Raj Thapa, and others. Cinematography is by Shishir Bishankhe and editing by Lokesh Bajracharya.
