Kathmandu — With its release on Jestha 15 drawing near, Roll No. 1 has unveiled its most emotionally resonant song yet. "Mero Lagi Timi" is a deeply moving track that shifts the film's promotional tone from the urgency of academic pressure to something quieter and more universal: the unconditional love and sacrifice of parents for their children.

The song features words, music, and vocals all by Prashant Shiwakoti, whose multiple roles in the film's soundtrack reflect his deep creative investment in this project. The music video features footage from the film itself alongside the main cast, giving audiences a more intimate window into the story they are about to see.

The song's central message is clear and affecting: that for a child, parents are their world and their temple, and that parents will endure any hardship and sacrifice any personal comfort for the sake of their child's happiness and future. The song signals that beneath Roll No. 1's critique of Nepal's competitive education system lies something warmer and more human: a story about a poor rural family and the depth of a parent's love.

Roll No. 1 is directed by John Yonjhan and stars Mukun Bhusal, Sushank Mainali, Renu Yogi, and Sirjana Adhikari in lead roles, with child actors Nirbhik Regmi, Rinchen Lama, Sanyam Katuwal, and Sijal Shrestha. The story is written by Mahesh Dawadi, with DOP Shivaram Shrestha, background score by Rohit Shakya, production design by Kala Sangraula, production head Manoj Joshi, and editing by Madan Ghimire. The film is produced by Binod Paudel and Janvi Paudel, with co-producers Chhatramaya Giri and Ramesh Chaulagain. Distribution is by Rich Entertainment and JM Cinema, both in Nepal and internationally.
