Kathmandu — Actor Mukun Bhusal, currently seen in the theatrically running Roll No. 1, has officially been signed for the lead role in the upcoming comedy drama Kangal Karorepati, directed by Raju Shrestha under the banner of Cinema Pathshala.

The formal agreement between the production team and Bhusal was reached a week ago, with the actor expressing genuine enthusiasm for the project. "Many scripts come to me, but Kangal Karorepati's storytelling style and the character I was offered attracted me in a special way," he said. "That's why I decided to do this film."

The film's premise follows the story of an ordinary person who becomes a millionaire, and then the equally dramatic journey of becoming broke again. It is a comedic but socially resonant concept that Bhusal feels confident will connect with audiences.

The film was originally announced in Kartik of last year with plans to begin shooting in Falgun, but production stalled and could not move forward. The signing of Bhusal has reinvigorated the team, and casting of other performers is now proceeding rapidly. Director Raju Shrestha has confirmed that once the cast is finalized, a pre-production workshop will be held before the shoot officially begins.

The screenplay is written by Suman Gajmer, with the film presented by Prabin Acharya, produced by Anilkumar Budathoki, and co-produced by Chhiring Tamang. Line producers are Rita Shrestha Tamang and Suraj Kumar.
