About
Alok Nembang, a prominent figure in Nepali cinema, was not only a film director but also renowned as a music video director for over a decade.
Having returned to Nepal from the United States, where he honed his skills in theater and filmmaking, Alok directed more than 500 music videos of Nepali music. In an interview, he once expressed, "I draw inspiration from various sources but refrain from imitation."
His professional journey commenced as a VJ at Image Channel in Nepal back in 1998. His directorial debut in the music video realm was marked by "Lakhau Patak" by Nabin K. Bhattarai. Additionally, Alok showcased his acting skills in the Limbu language film "Numafung" in 2004.
However, it was with the production of "Sano Sansar" in 2008 that Alok realized his passion for filmmaking, which proved to be a major success. Subsequently, his second directorial venture, "Kohi Mero" in 2010, further solidified his popularity among the Nepalese cinema audience.
Tragically, Alok's life came to an abrupt end on November 6, 2014, when he was discovered deceased at his residence in Kathmandu, in what appeared to be a case of suicide.
