Astha Raut is a powerhouse of the Nepali pop and playback music industry, widely recognized for her unique, husky vocal texture and high-energy performances. Born on April 30 in Kathmandu into a musical family—her father is the folk singer Hari Bahadur Raut and her mother is lyricist Sabitri Raut—she was immersed in music from childhood. She first shot to fame with the hit remix "Saal Ko Paata Tapari," which became a staple at parties and events across the country. Her debut album, Aadhar, further solidified her stardom with chart-topping tracks like "Chaubandi Ma Patuki" and "Jhumke Bulaki."
Her career is marked by numerous accolades, including the Hits FM Music Award and the Image Award for Best Female Pop Vocal. Astha's influence reached a peak in 2019 when she joined the international franchise show The Voice of Nepal as a coach for its second season, where her bold personality and technical insights made her a standout mentor. Beyond her solo pop career, she is a sought-after playback singer for films, voicing popular songs like "Maya Yo Maya" (from Maya's Bar) and "Mata Yeta Kinarama" (from Chhakka Panja 2). Known for her "bold and beautiful" persona, she is also a trained dancer and an adventurous spirit who often advocates for social causes, including mental health awareness and disaster relief.
