Bikash Subedi is a highly regarded Nepali screenwriter, director, and journalist who has spent over two decades in the Nepali cinema sector. He transitioned from a career in journalism to filmmaking, establishing himself as a powerful storyteller known for realistic and socially relevant narratives. He is best known as the writer of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful film "Prakash" (2022), which starred Pradeep Khadka and explored the struggles of a young man from remote Jumla attempting to become a government school teacher. His writing in Prakash earned him significant industry recognition, including the Best Story award at the D-Cine Awards 2024 and an award for Original Screenplay at the Spiny Babbler International Film Festival.
