Nati Kaji, whose real name was Amrit Lal Shrestha, was a renowned Nepali singer and songwriter. He was known for his contributions to Nepali music as a music director and singer. Nati Kaji gained fame for composing and singing evergreen songs like "Nepali Hami," which was written by Madhav Prasad Ghimire.

His musical journey began at a young age, as he started playing the harmonium at the Gujeshwori Bhajan Mandali when he was just 7 years old. He entered the professional music scene when he joined Radio Nepal in 1950. Over the course of his 40-year career at Radio Nepal, he composed more than 2000 songs spanning various genres.

Nati Kaji's musical legacy also includes his work on more than 15 operas, such as "Pijada ko Suga," "Kunjani," "Prithvi Narayan Shah ka Char Pakchhya," and others. One of his notable compositions is the timeless song "Marna Baru Garho Hunna," with lyrics penned by Tirtha Raj Tuladhar and sung by Phatteman Rajbhandari. Nati Kaji's contributions have left a lasting impact on the Nepali music industry.
