The biggest hit of superstar Anmol KC’s career, Jerry on Top, is crossing the border. After a record-breaking run in Nepal, the film is set to release across major Indian cities this Friday, February 27.
To kick off the Indian release, a grand premiere is being held today, February 26, in Gangtok, Sikkim. Anmol KC, along with the film's cast and crew including Jassita Gurung and Bhuwan KC, has already arrived in Sikkim to attend the event. The premiere will also feature a special performance by the acclaimed composer Kali Prasad Baskota, who is part of the film's musical team.
India Release: Where to Watch?
The film is targeting the large Nepali-speaking diaspora and cinema lovers across India. Advance bookings have already opened in several major cinema chains.
Key Cities for the Release:
Sikkim & West Bengal: Gangtok, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri, and Kolkata.
Others: Delhi and Dehradun.
A Global Success Story
Jerry on Top isn't just a love story; it’s an adventure drama centered around an Everest expedition, blending youth romance with the breathtaking but dangerous journey of mountaineering.
Box Office Power: Since its initial release in October, the film has earned over 17 Crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Nepali films of all time.
Star-Studded Cast: Alongside Anmol, the film features Aanchal Sharma, Jassita Gurung, Kedar Ghimire (Magne Budha), and a veteran presence by Bhuwan KC.
Director: Directed by Suyog Gurung, the film has been praised for its high production values and stunning visuals of the Himalayas.
Actually, Anmol KC has a massive fan base in Sikkim and Darjeeling, so bringing the film there for a theatrical run is a brilliant move. It’s also one of the rare times a Nepali film has secured a wide "box office release" in India rather than just limited community screenings. Or at least, it shows that Nepali cinema is finally starting to flex its muscles in the international market.
