Kathmandu — The upcoming Nepali film Paral Ko Aago has unveiled a deeply moving song, "Udi Jaun Bhane, Ma Panchhi Hoina," released Monday through the OSR Digital YouTube channel. The film is set to arrive in theaters on Baisakh 11.

The song's music video features lead actors Suhana Thapa, Prakash Saput, and child actress Manjila Baniya, with Suhana Thapa's performance drawing particular praise from early viewers for its emotional depth and restraint. The choreography by Ramji Lamichhane adds a graceful visual layer to what is already a quietly powerful piece of music.

The song carries a poignant backstory. Its original version was recorded nearly four decades ago by the legendary Nepali singer Aruna Lama — a voice that remains deeply beloved across generations of Nepali music lovers. The production team has dedicated this recreated version as a heartfelt tribute to the late singer, reimagined with a fresh voice by Nishu Sharma for a new generation of listeners. Music is composed by renowned composer Shanti Thatal, with lyrics by Man Bahadur Mukhiya and arrangements by Binod Bhujel.

Rooted in a Literary Classic

Paral Ko Aago is inspired by the immortal short story of the same name by celebrated Nepali literary figure Guru Prasad Mainali, originally published in his collection Naso. It is worth noting that the story was previously adapted into a film nearly 45 years ago by director Pratap Subba — making this new version both a literary homage and a cinematic reimagining for contemporary audiences.

The film stars Suhana Thapa, Saugat Malla, Prakash Saput, Sirjana Adhikari, Kishore Bhandari, Jack Shrestha, Sarita Bhandari, Renu Neupane, and child actress Manjila Baniya, among others.

Directed by Laxman Sunar with screenplay and dialogues by Sushil Devkota, the film is produced by Sushil Pokhrel under the banner of Hariom Cine Makers, with Sulabhi Pokhrel and Satyam Pokhrel as co-producers.

The technical team includes cinematographer Sankalpa Bhujel, editor Milan Shrestha, colorist Canal Kanwar, VFX by Samir Miya and Satyam Rana, background score by Kiran Tuladhar, and music by Shanti Thatal, Satya-Swarup Acharya, and Prakash Saput. Art direction is handled by Pratik Chaudhary, with Karan Bahadur Saud as chief assistant director and production coordination by Nagendra Ghimire.

Distribution across Nepal will be managed by RR Films, while digital rights have been acquired by OSR Digital.
