Kathmandu — The teaser of Kamala Miss, the long-awaited psychological drama directed by veteran filmmaker Nir Shah, has been officially released, and it has already generated significant anticipation among Nepali film audiences for its mysterious, emotionally layered tone.

The teaser places lead actress Basana Timilsina at its center, presenting her character in a series of psychologically intense and visually striking moments that hint at a story rooted in deep inner conflict. The film is inspired by the celebrated play "Kohi Kina Barbad Hos" by renowned playwright and literary figure Vijay Malla, lending the project a strong literary foundation.

For director Nir Shah, this marks a return to the director's chair after nearly a decade away from the craft. His previous directorial works include Vasudev, Pachis Basanta, Rajmati, Basanti, Masan, and Seto Bagh, each of which holds a significant place in the history of Nepali cinema.

The film stars Nir Shah himself alongside Ramesh Budathoki, Basana Timilsina, Shivam Saraf Kshetri, Aarv Dahal, Bhawana Magar, Sushant Kumar Shrestha, Jayant Regmi, Suresh Thapa, Rajan KC, and Sanjay Khatiwada, among others.

The screenplay and dialogues are co-written by Nir Shah, Prajal Dulal, and Sugam Dulal, based on Vijay Malla's original story. The film is produced by the Vijay Malla family under Vijay Malla Smriti Pratisthan, with executive producers Umesh Malla, Chaitanya Pradhan, Ramesh Babu Shrestha, and Ram Bhattarai. Pushkar Lama serves as line producer.

Technical credits include cinematography by Shivaram Shrestha, music by Yug Bhusal, choreography by Ramji Lamichhane, production management by Bhola Subedi, and chief assistant direction by Sagar Bohra. Distribution is handled by Apple Entertainment, Rich Entertainment, and FD Company.

Kamala Miss is scheduled to release on Shrawan 22.
