Kathmandu — Principal photography on Captain Saab has officially wrapped up, with the film's formal indaclap ceremony held on Wednesday. The shoot was completed in two phases: the first began on Saun 10 of last year, while the second phase was completed two weeks ago. Filming took place across Kavre, Kathmandu, and Birgunj.
Captain Saab is a biopic based on the life of Captain Rameshwar Thapa, a pilot, businessman, and media entrepreneur. The film is directed by Dipendra K. Khanal, written by the director himself, and shot by cinematographer Krishnabahadur Thapa.
The film stars Khagendra Lamichhane, Surakshya Pant, and Sanjog Rasaili in the lead roles. Director Khanal had previously cast Khagendra and Surakshya together in Dhanapati, making this their second on-screen pairing. The director-actor collaboration between Khanal and Lamichhane is also an ongoing creative partnership.
The film is produced by director Dipendra K. Khanal alongside Karan Shrestha, with Sirjana Napit as executive producer. The production team includes Saugat Basnet as chief assistant director, Samrat Basnet as action director, Eki Thekpa as production designer, Rohit Raj Gautam as head of production, and Bishnu Budathoki as production manager.
The film is presented jointly by Patkatha Production, Yarsa Studio, and Rich Entertainment.
