He has had a prolific career in the Indian film industry, primarily working in Hindi cinema while occasionally appearing in Bengali, Nepali, and Tamil films. His contributions to Indian cinema span over five decades, during which he has acted in more than 190 films since his debut in 1971.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment, Danny Denzongpa was honored with the Padma Shri in 2003, one of India's highest civilian awards.
