Jayananda Lama (Nepali: जयानन्द लामा; 1956 – February 23, 2022) was a distinguished Nepalese folk singer and actor. He was born in Bahrabise, Nepal, and showcased his musical talents from a young age, winning a consolation prize in a national competition when he was just 13 years old. His passion for music led him to pursue higher education in the field, earning a Bachelor's diploma in classical music from Lalit Kala Campus in India and a master's degree in classical music from Allahabad University, India.

Jayananda Lama held various positions in his career, including working at the Royal Nepal Academy and serving as the Head of the Folk Department at Radio Nepal.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Jayananda Lama ventured into acting and made his debut in the movie "Man Ko Bandh" in 1973. Over the years, he graced the Nepali film industry with his presence, appearing in more than a hundred movies.

Unfortunately, on February 23, 2022, Jayananda Lama was discovered deceased in front of his residence in Kaushaltar, Bhaktapur, at the age of 65, marking the end of a prolific career in the Nepalese entertainment industry.
