Milan Chams, born on March 20, 1980, in Kathmandu, Nepal, is a prominent Nepali film director and producer known for his significant contributions to the Nepali film industry. He began his career as a music video director, creating over 200 music videos before transitioning to film direction in 2014 with his debut movie "Hasiya". Milan gained widespread recognition with his second film, "Bir Bikram," which became a massive hit and was highly appreciated by the Nepali audience.
Milan Chams is celebrated for popularizing the trend of shooting Nepali films overseas, with scenes shot in countries like Norway, Turkey, the UK, Romania, and Azerbaijan. He is also known for initiating red carpet premieres for Nepali films in foreign nations, most notably in Leicester Square, London, with the movie premiere of “Gurkha Warrior”. His notable works include "Bir Bikram," "Lily Bily," "Blind Rocks," "Happy Days," "Bobby," and "Bir Bikram 2".
Throughout his career, Milan has received numerous awards and accolades, including the National Film Award for Best Director for "Blind Rocks" in 2018. He was also honored with the "Jan Seva Shree Padak," one of the highest civilian awards in Nepal, by the former President of Nepal, Mrs. Bidhya Devi Bhandari, for his efforts and skills in filmmaking and production. Milan Chams continues to be a leading figure in the Nepali film industry, known for his creativity, innovation, and dedication to his craft.
