He began his career as a music video director, creating over 200 music videos before transitioning to film direction in 2014 with his debut movie "Hasiya". Milan gained widespread recognition with his second film, "Bir Bikram," which became a massive hit and was highly appreciated by the Nepali audience.

Milan Chams is celebrated for popularizing the trend of shooting Nepali films overseas, with scenes shot in countries like Norway, Turkey, the UK, Romania, and Azerbaijan. He is also known for initiating red carpet premieres for Nepali films in foreign nations, most notably in Leicester Square, London, with the movie premiere of “Gurkha Warrior”. His notable works include "Bir Bikram," "Lily Bily," "Blind Rocks," "Happy Days," "Bobby," and "Bir Bikram 2".
