The wait is finally over for fans of Bijay Baral and Barsha Raut. The production team of the upcoming film Malati Mangale officially released the movie's first look poster today, announcing a release date of Baisakh 25 (next year).
The poster features a very sweet and cozy moment between the two leads. Bijay is seen resting his head on Barsha’s lap, while Barsha, dressed in traditional red rural attire, smiles warmly. The design, handled by Bijay Basyal, suggests that the movie will be a grounded, rural love story. This is a refreshing change for both actors, who are known for their versatile performances but haven't been paired together in such a romantic light lately.
What to Expect from Malati Mangale
The Director's Vision: Praku Pandey, who both directed and wrote the story, describes the film as a "pure Nepali family love story." He says the movie aims to highlight a very strong and emotional side of our society.
A Singer's New Role: This project marks a major milestone for legendary singer Ram Krishna Dhakal, who is stepping into the role of a film producer for the first time under the banner of Rani Music International.
The Location: Most of the filming took place in the scenic landscapes of Tanahun and Syangja, which explains the authentic rural vibe of the poster.
A Strong Supporting Cast
While Bijay and Barsha are the main focus, the movie has a massive ensemble cast. You’ll see familiar faces like Mexam Gaudel, Prakash Ghimire, Sarita Giri, and Sushma Niraula in key roles. Even singer Ram Krishna Dhakal’s involvement has added a lot of musical expectations to the project.
Actually, both Bijay and Barsha reportedly took a three-month break from other projects just to prepare for these roles. That level of dedication is rare in our industry. It shows they aren't just treating this as another romantic comedy, but as a serious character-driven drama. At first, some thought this might be a musical, but the director has clarified it’s a social family drama. Or at least, it’s a movie that wants to make the audience feel something real.
With the release date now locked for Baisakh 25, the team is entering the final stages of post-production. This could be the big family hit of the next spring season.
