After a successful run in cinema halls, the Nepali film ‘Jharipachhiko Indreni’ (Rainbow After the Rain) is set for its digital premiere on YouTube this Thursday. Fans who missed it in theaters or want to re-watch the drama can catch it on the official YouTube channel of Kathmandu Mayor and rapper Balen Shah.

The film has maintained a close connection with Balen Shah since its inception. Not only was the popular song "Aam Nepali Buba"—which features a rap by Balen—released on his channel, but the Mayor’s wife, Sabina Kafle, also attended the film’s inauguration ceremony to show her support.

A 51-Day Theater Success

Directed by popular comedian Arjun Ghimire (Pande), the film enjoyed a strong theatrical journey.

Milestone: The production team celebrated the film’s 51st day in theaters on Magh 25.

Box Office: Despite a competitive market, it managed to collect over 1.29 crore rupees at the domestic box office.

Release History: The film first hit the big screens on Poush 4, marking a significant debut for Pande as a feature film director.

The Big Comeback and New Faces

One of the most talked-about aspects of this film is the return of actor Ganesh Upreti, who made a comeback after a nine-year hiatus. His performance as a father fighting against corruption and social injustice was widely praised by critics and audiences alike.

The Star-Studded Cast:

Veterans: Ganesh Upreti, Ramesh Upreti, Deepashree Niraula, Prakash Ghimire, Sarita Giri, Nirmal Sharma, and Deshbhakta Khanal.

The Sakkigoni Team: Arjun Ghimire (Pande) and Priyana Acharya (Munni).

Debutants: Newcomers Vimochan Dawadi and Jessica Pokharel made their official entry into cinema with this project.

Produced by Nagaraj Entertainment, the film explores the "Generation Z" struggle—touching on the desire to move abroad (Australia) and the frustration with political instability.

Actually, the decision to release the film on Balen’s channel is a smart move, as his massive digital following will likely give the movie a huge second life online. Or at least, it ensures that its social message about good governance reaches a much wider audience.
