Kathmandu — Even as the entire nation's attention was locked onto election season, a romantic song from an upcoming Nepali film quietly took over social media — and the numbers speak for themselves.
"Dhagole Bateko," the first song from the forthcoming film Ram Nam Satya, directed by Michael Chand, has crossed 2.17 million views on YouTube in just 13 days of its release. On TikTok, the song has inspired over 100,000 user-created videos, making it one of the fastest-growing Nepali film songs in recent memory.
The melodious track features vocals by Babul Giri and popular singer Rachana Rimal, with choreography by Sion Shrestha. Audiences have been particularly captivated by the on-screen chemistry between lead actor Biraj Bhatt — widely known for his action-hero image — and actress Supushpa Bhatt, who appears alongside him in a refreshingly romantic avatar.

When the song was released during the height of election season, many in the industry predicted it would struggle to gain traction, warning the team that public attention would be too divided. Director Chand, however, stood firm in his conviction.
"Many people told me this was the wrong time," he said, "but we believed in the quality of the song and in our audience's taste. Today, this song is on everyone's lips — and that has given our entire team a renewed sense of energy and confidence."
Chand also confirmed that the film's official teaser will be released within the coming days, building further anticipation ahead of its theatrical premiere on Chaitra 27.
Ram Nam Satya blends action, suspense, and romance, and features an ensemble cast including Sushil Shrestha, Divya Raymajhi, Ayush Singh Thakuri, Prashant Tamrakar, and Sunil Thapa. The film is produced under the banner of Michael Entertainment House, with investment from Upendra Shahi and Sweta Bimali. Kishore Bhatt, Rajendra Bhatt, and Arjun Sunar serve as executive producers, while Moti Karki is the creative producer and Rajendra Acharya is the line producer.
The film's music is composed by Babul Giri, Arjun Pokhrel, SD Yogi, and Nawa Ansari. It features cinematography by Manakrishna Maharjan, action direction by Shree Shrestha, editing by Bande Prasad, and background score by Kala Charan. The story and screenplay are written by Michael Chand himself.
