Kathmandu — The dynamic duo behind Aayanka Films is making waves again. Actress Priyanka Karki and actor Ayushman Joshi's production banner has been generating significant buzz with their latest release — a short film titled Takh — and now the pair is setting their sights on an even bigger milestone: their first full-length feature film.
The 14-minute-44-second short has already surpassed 400,000 views in a short span of time, earning widespread praise from audiences and critics alike. Takh offers a raw and artistic portrayal of rural life in western Nepal, shining a spotlight on the harrowing reality faced by remote communities who must risk their lives crossing rivers on a tuin — a rudimentary zip-line-style cable crossing that serves as the only means of transport across gorges in many isolated villages.
Priyanka Karki's performance in the film has drawn particular acclaim, with viewers and reviewers applauding her for disappearing completely into her village character — a testament to her versatility as an actress. Written and directed by Samtain Bhutia, the film also features Royal KC, Arjun Regmi, Ghanshyam Joshi, and Renunaath Yogi in supporting roles.
Takh adds to a growing portfolio for Aayanka Films, which has previously produced well-received projects including the series Just Another Love Story and the short film Basanta. Each project has steadily elevated the banner's reputation as a home for meaningful, quality storytelling.
Now, after years of laying the groundwork, Priyanka and Ayushman are ready to take the leap into feature filmmaking. The couple has confirmed that a full-length film under the Aayanka Films banner is in active development and will be brought to audiences soon.
