Kathmandu — The cast of the highly anticipated sequel Aa Bata Aama 2 is taking shape. Actor Aakash Shrestha has been officially signed for an important role in the film, with the production team confirming the contract on Monday.
Director Chandra Panta confirmed the news: "We have signed Aakash in keeping with the demands of the film's story. Previously, we had already signed actor Pal Shah and actress Bipana Thapa as the main cast."
The three confirmed lead names — Pal Shah, Bipana Thapa, and now Aakash Shrestha — form the core of a sequel that carries enormous expectations. The first film, Aa Bata Aama, has already crossed Rs. 13 crore at the box office and continues to run in theaters, making it one of the most successful Nepali films of the year. In the original, Bipana Thapa played the mother, Pal Shah the son, and Indian senior actor Pradeep Rawat the father. Whether Rawat will return for the sequel has not yet been confirmed.
Director Panta stated that further cast announcements will be made gradually, with the story once again written by Panta himself. The film is being produced under the banner of Arya Entertainment and is scheduled to begin principal photography from Baisakh, with a Dashain theatrical release as the target. Distribution will be handled by RR Films.
