Kathmandu — The upcoming Nepali action-love story Kumbha has unveiled its first song, "Swargaki Pari," at a special event in Kathmandu. The romantic track introduces the film's lead pair — newcomer Ashok Aryan and actress Srishti Khadka — in a warm and tender light, offering audiences a softer counterpoint to the film's action-heavy identity.
The song features vocals by Anju Pant and Anup Tiwari, with lyrics written by director Randhir Shrestha himself and music direction by Anup Tiwari. The song has been released through the official YouTube channel of RAA Digital Nepal.
Filmmaker Society President Janakdeep Parajuli, who attended the launch as a special guest, praised the quality of the song's locations and expressed confidence that the film would resonate with audiences. Director Randhir Shrestha noted that the film represents something technically fresh for Nepali action cinema, adding that stunt performers who worked on the South Indian blockbuster Kantara have been involved in the film's action sequences. Newcomer Ashok Aryan said that despite this being his first film, he has given everything he has to the performance.
Kumbha is written, directed, and shot by Randhir Shrestha, who brings years of experience in music video direction and film cinematography to his feature directorial debut. The film will release in both Nepali and Hindi, targeting both domestic and international audiences. It was filmed across locations in Nepal and South India, and features South Indian actor Surendra Thakur alongside the Nepali cast. The film stars Ashok Aryan, the late Sunil Thapa, Sushil Pokhrel, Rohit Rumba, Afsana Thapa, and Srishti Khadka in lead roles. The film is produced under the banner of A Ras Production by Randhir Shrestha and Rajesh Shah, with Ishwar Ballabh Upreti as executive producer. Action direction is by Sanjay Thapa.
Kumbha is set to release on Jestha 15.
