Kathmandu — The Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Film Development Board of Nepal have signed a formal agreement to jointly conduct photography and video journalism training for youth, as part of the city's broader push to develop Kathmandu as a film-friendly city.
Under the agreement, 40 young participants will receive one month of training covering professional photography, video journalism, and audiovisual content production — combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical skills. The signing took place between Kathmandu Metropolitan City's Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain and Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh DC.
The training falls under the city's "Employment and Income Growth, Kathmandu's Prosperity" pride program, and will be conducted as part of the Board's approved annual program for the fiscal year 2082/083, titled "Filmmaking Skills Enhancement Year 2082."
Applications are open and will be accepted within 10 days of the announcement, with priority given to those who register first. The Board has expressed confidence that the training will build the skilled workforce that Kathmandu's film, media, and creative industries increasingly need.
