Kathmandu — One of Nepali cinema's most celebrated on-screen pairings is coming back together. Actor Mahesh Tripathi and actress Anjana Baraili, who captivated audiences in the blockbuster Paran, have officially announced their next collaboration: a new film titled "Aasha," with a release date confirmed for Magh 1.
The formal announcement was made at a press conference held on Thursday, attended by the film's cast and production team.
Aasha will be produced under the banner of Udan Studio by Sharmila Thapa, with screenplay and direction by Rajeev Gurung. The cast alongside Mahesh and Anjana includes Sashank Mainali, Sushil Sitaula, Ashant Sharma, Kavita Regmi, Kepina Singh, and Bishnu Moktan.
The pairing of Mahesh and Anjana carries significant weight for Nepali audiences. Their collaboration in Paran helped the film become the fourth highest-grossing Nepali film of all time at the domestic box office, a benchmark that has made their reunion in Aasha a highly anticipated event from the moment of its announcement.
Principal photography is expected to commence shortly, according to the production team.
