Nisha Adhikari, born in 1987 in Kathmandu, Nepal, is a prominent Nepalese actress known for her diverse contributions to the entertainment industry.

Nisha's journey began when she won the title of Miss Teen Nepal in 2005. Subsequently, she pursued her education in the United States, majoring in Film and Digital Media Production with a minor in Theatre at the University of North Alabama, where she graduated with top honors.

Her acting career took flight with a role in the small movie project "Bhulne Po Ho Ki" in the USA. However, it was her portrayal of a prostitute in "Jholay," opposite Dayahang Rai, that garnered significant attention. "Jholay" became a box office success, grossing over 10 million NPR.

In 2015, Nisha starred alongside Sauram Raj Tuladhar and Saugat Malla in the well-received gangster thriller "Sadanga." She continued to make an impact with her role in "Nai Nabannu La 2," opposite Suraj Singh Thakuri, which grossed over four million NPR.

In addition to her film work, Nisha appeared in several music videos, including "Guras Fulyo Banai Bhari," a song by Kishor Siwakoti and Asha Bhosle.

Her standout performances in "Jholay" and "Nai Na Bhannu La 2" earned her multiple awards, including the Online Filmykhabar Award for Best Actress 2017, NEFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female), INFA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female), and INFA Most Popular Actor (Female).

While her next release, "Aawaran," did not achieve the same commercial success, it marked Nisha's entry into the Nepalese music industry as a singer. She collaborated with Yama Buddha on the original soundtrack of "Aawaran."

Nisha's role in "Suntali" earned her recognition when the film premiered at the 19th Busan International Film Festival. She was awarded Best Actor (Female) at the National Film Critics Award (NFCA) and the NFDC National Film Awards 2017.

In 2015, Nisha took on the titular role in the horror/thriller film "Mala." Her performance as a mysterious widow with long black hair and a white sari was striking. The film featured the hit song "Surke Thaili Khai," which became the first Nepali song to reach 20 million views on YouTube.

In 2016, she portrayed 'Ani' in the fourth installment of the "Nai NaBhannu La" series, contributing to its massive success. She also played a female detective in the comedy film "How Funny."

Towards the end of the year, Nisha impressed audiences with her role as a police inspector in the family drama "Shatru Gatey," which went on to celebrate 100 days at the theater and became one of the most successful Nepali films.

Her success continued in 2018 with releases like "Katha Kathmandu," opposite Ayushman Deshraj Joshi, and "Nai Na Bhannu La 5," further solidifying her position in the Nepali film industry.
