Upendra Subba, also known as Upendra Bahadur Angdembe, is a prominent figure in Nepal, recognized as a poet, lyricist, writer, and film director. He played a key role in the Srijanshil Arajakta movement, an initiative he co-founded alongside Rajan Mukarung and Hangyug Agyat.
In the realm of film, Upendra Subba attributes his success in storytelling to director Ram Babu Gurung. Together, they've crafted successful movies like "Kabaddi" and "Kabaddi Kabaddi." His initial foray into film writing began with "Keba Kokma (Lato Pahad)," a production in the Limbu language directed by Ravi Serma.
The story of "Lato Pahad" was adapted into a theatrical play, showcasing its enduring impact.
While making brief appearances in "Kabaddi" and "Kabaddi Kabaddi," Upendra Subba has expressed feeling compelled to act due to the insistence of friends.
Further expanding his artistic journey, Upendra Subba took on the role of director in the 2023 film "Jaari," a project for which he also served as the writer, marking his directorial debut.
