Dashain 2083 Box Office Set for Five-Film Showdown as "Double Triple" Joins the Race

Kathmandu — Nepal's most competitive release window of the year just got even more crowded. The upcoming Dashain festival is shaping up to host a five-film box office battle, with director and producer Ashok Sharma's Double Triple now expected to join the already-packed lineup.

According to sources close to the production, Sharma is preparing to announce the film's release date of Ashoj 30 alongside its first-look poster within the coming days, placing it in direct competition with Aa Bata Aama 2 and Batulo Jun, both of which are also targeting the same date.

Meanwhile, Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2 and 12 Gaun 2 are expected to release on Fulpati, making the Dashain window extraordinarily competitive across multiple days.

Double Triple completed its principal photography several months ago. The film stars Dayahang Rai, Keki Adhikari, Khagendra Lamichhane, Miruna Magar, and Wilson Bikram Rai, among others - a cast that gives the film genuine star power to compete with the other Dashain contenders.

As has historically been the case, not all five may hold their announced dates - the screen availability and showtime arithmetic simply may not accommodate simultaneous releases of this scale. But the presence of five well-resourced productions all eyeing the same window guarantees that this Dashain will be one of the most talked-about box office seasons in recent Nepali film history.
