Kathmandu — Post-production work on Akshara, releasing on Bhadra 26, is progressing steadily. Actress Nancy Khadka has completed her dubbing session, and her reaction after watching herself on screen was one of genuine delight and quiet pride.
"Seeing my work on screen and feeling that my character has received its full justice made me very happy," she said, adding that she was even surprised by herself during the viewing. Akshara marks her first film as a sole female lead, a milestone she has clearly approached with exceptional dedication and preparation.
Nancy's path to this moment is remarkable. Before entering the Nepali film industry, she completed a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a Minor in Psychology at a California university from 2016 to 2020, and was featured in the prestigious international fashion publication Muvir Paris Magazine during her modeling years. She is also the winner of Miss Nepal International 2022, having represented Nepal on the international stage in Japan.
She made her acting debut in 12 Gaun and is also part of the cast of the upcoming Batulo Jun. In Akshara, she stars opposite Sushil Sitaula, with additional cast including Sushil Pokhrel, Pushkar Raut, Rista Adhikari, Anshu Maharjan, Geeta Adhikari, Birendara Kushwaha, Srijana Adhikari, Mohan Adhikari, and Srishti Khadka, with child actors Ronak Khadka and Prisa Dhungana.
The film is directed by Binayraj Poudel, written by Abhimanyu Nirawi and the director, produced by Ugrasena Dhungana and Sugrasena Dhungana under Kshit Babu Production House, and distributed by National Cine Group Nepal.
