Kathmandu — Actress and director Deepashree Niraula has successfully undergone surgery for a brain tumor at Annapurna Neuro Hospital, Maitighar, Kathmandu, and is currently recovering in the hospital's general ward after being moved out of the ICU.
The tumor was discovered during the filming of Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2, when Deepashree developed sudden health issues on set. Actor and producer Deepak Raj Giri broke the news through social media, describing a difficult week for the entire team.
"This week was extremely challenging and difficult for us," Giri wrote. "In the middle of the shoot, we discovered that Deepa ji had a brain tumor. We were thrown into uncertainty. Immediate surgery was required. We received advice to travel to India for treatment, but ultimately the decision was made to proceed with surgery in Nepal under experienced neurosurgeon Dr. Basanta Pant."
Giri confirmed that the surgery was completed successfully with the blessings of God, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to audiences, well-wishers, and the entire medical team at Annapurna Neuro Hospital for their care and support.
The Nepali film industry and the wider public have been sending messages of support and prayers for Deepashree's recovery.
