He was born on September 17, 1956, in Kathmandu, Nepal, and started his career as a singer for Radio Nepal at just 10 years old. His acting career took off with the film "Juni" in 1983, but it was the 1984 movie "Samjhana" that truly marked his rise as a leading actor.
Over the years, Bhuwan has appeared in many iconic Nepali films, such as "Kusume Rumal" (1985), "Santaan" (1987), "Chino" (1990), "Dakshina" (1994), and "Nepali Babu" (1999). He later ventured into directing and producing, with significant projects like "Dreams" (2016), which starred his son, Anmol K.C., in the main role.
Beyond his film career, Bhuwan is also engaged in politics and has been serving as the chairman of the Nepal Film Development Board since 2022. His personal life has attracted media attention as well, particularly his marriages to Vijaya Malla and Sushmita K.C., along with his relationship with actress Jiya K.C. Bhuwan is a father to three children, including Anmol K.C.
