Ram Chandra Adhikari, known by his pseudonym "Kaji Ba" or "Gopte Kaji," is a renowned comedian and character actor in Nepal. His contributions to the entertainment industry have made him a beloved figure in Nepali films and television.

Adhikari was born in Gothatar, Kathmandu, and faced challenging circumstances from an early age. At the age of 10, he began working as a home assistant in a family assigned to him by his parents. Due to unfavorable working conditions, he ran away and traveled to various places. He worked in a palace of the Rana family in Hetauda and later traveled to Benaras, India. After a brief stay in Benaras, he returned to Nepal, where he temporarily worked in an automobile workshop in Sarlahi before finally returning to Kathmandu.

In 2030 BS (1973-1974), Adhikari secured a job at Nepal Telecom in Kathmandu. His journey into the world of acting began around 2035 BS (1978-1979) when he performed in a play titled "Sachha Prem" by Bhairav Aryal for a local theater group in Jorpati. The play gained immense popularity, leading to invitations to collaborate with other contemporary artists. Throughout his career, he continued to work the night shift at Nepal Telecom while pursuing his passion for acting during the day.

Ram Chandra Adhikari has an impressive filmography, having acted in over 400 Nepali films and various television series. One of his notable contributions includes his role in the long-running Nepali sitcom "Meri Bassai." He played a significant part in the show's success, although he was temporarily substituted by Mukunda Shrestha in episode 780 due to hospitalization.

Adhikari's dedication and contributions to the entertainment industry earned him recognition as the first person to receive life insurance from the Film Development Board, a government entity aimed at promoting the film industry in Nepal. His comedic talent and versatile acting have made him a beloved figure in Nepali entertainment.
