Sambhujeet Baskota, also spelled Sambhujit Baskota, is a highly renowned Nepali music composer, singer, and lyricist. His contributions to the Nepali music industry have made him one of the most popular and prolific figures in Nepali cinema.

Baskota's impressive career includes composing music for over 355 Nepali feature films, as well as crafting more than 2,000 Nepali modern songs, folk songs, and bhajans (religious songs). His musical talent has left a significant impact on the Nepali entertainment scene.

He is notably recognized for directing the first Nepali music video, titled "Mayalu Timi Tadha," which was released in 1985 and featured the well-known actor Bhuwan KC. In addition to his musical career, Baskota is involved in anti-drug programs aimed at helping children.

He was part of a remarkable achievement when he joined 365 other Nepali artists in singing an environmental song titled "Melancholy," which set a Guinness World Record. This song was conceptualized, written, composed, and directed by environmentalist Nipesh Dhaka.

Baskota has a family deeply connected to the world of music and film. His son, Shauryajeet Baskota, is also a musical director and composed music for the film "Kusume Rumal 2." Additionally, his daughter, Mela Baskota, has appeared as a child artist in numerous Nepali feature films.

Baskota's contributions to music and culture have earned him recognition and accolades, including the 8th Fr E.L. Watrin Memorial Cultural Award at Survaahini, A Musical Bliss organized by St. Xavier's College.
