Yo Maan Ta Mero Nepali Ho is a powerful and emotional Nepali film directed by Nar Pradhan ‘Mitra’, portraying the journey of Nepali-speaking Bhutanese who were exiled and later resettled as refugees in Nepal. The story unfolds further as many of them migrate to the United States, where they are confronted with the challenge of preserving their language, culture, and national identity in a foreign land. The narrative delicately explores the tension between generations — while elders yearn to keep cultural traditions alive, the younger generation finds itself caught between honoring their heritage and assimilating into a new environment. With poignant performances by Bijay Baral, Wilson Bikram Rai, Buddhi Tamang, Roshan Shrestha, and Ayusha Samal, the film captures the resilience, pride, and emotional complexities of a community rooted in love for its homeland. It’s a tribute to Nepali identity, celebrating the enduring connection to one's roots, no matter the distance.
