Tulsi Ghimire, born on July 15, 1951, in Kalimpong, Darjeeling, had a diverse and successful career in the Nepali film industry. He began his journey in the film world as a helper to a film director and artist in Bombay. Over time, he learned film editing and worked as an editor in Hindi movies. In 1981, he made his entry into the Nepali Movie Industry as a director and editor with the film 'Bansuri.'
Tulsi Ghimire's films often focused on depicting real societal issues, and he became known for his contributions to the Family Drama genre in Nepali cinema. His movies were designed to be enjoyed by the entire family. Over the years, he worked as a director, editor, actor, scriptwriter, lyricist, cinematographer, and producer. In total, he contributed to 25 movies.
Some of his most notable and successful films include 'Kusume Rumal,' 'Lahure,' 'Chino,' 'Dui Thopa Aanshu,' 'Deuta,' 'Dakshina,' 'Balidan,' and 'Darpan Chhaya.' However, it's worth noting that nearly all of his movies achieved success in their own right, making him a prominent figure in Nepali cinema.
